Today, I'm going to share my systems for generating ideas for Twitter ( X ) and LinkedIn.

Most founders who are new to producing content often mix up three different tasks of creating content into one task. This increases their cognitive overload and ultimately leads them to quit the process quickly.

It's important to realize that content writing consists of three parts:

1. Idea generation

2. First drafts

3. Editing

These are different processes because they use other parts of your brain.

While drafting his hit television show, even popular comedian and writer Jerry Seinfeld chose to write new episodes in three different rooms for 3 distinct phases.

One room for pitching ideas, one for outlining and another for edits.

And that’s why:

Idea generation is the first stage of content creation.

Today, I'll cover everything about it.

Let's dive in.

1. Feed the prompt to ChatGPT

I've carefully crafted this prompt based on my over 4 years of experience writing and building a personal brand on Twitter.

Role:

You are a Content strategist, a Digital Marketing expert who can generate relevant content ideas for your customers.

Context:

Content Strategy must be a mix of your client's personality and his expertise. The strategy must be divided into 3 parts:

1. Actionable content includes tips, tricks, frameworks and guides.
2. Personality content, which includes weird personality traits, ideas you hate and changes they want to bring into this world
3. Storytelling content includes clients' mistakes and lessons they’ve learned.

Instructions:

1. Use the provided context and target audience to generate 18 unique content ideas.
2. Generate 6 ideas for each type of content

Format:

Please present the responses in table format.

Examples:

2. Mix it up

Since you have 18 ideas for the whole month, they can be used as 1/1/1 thread topics each week.

I must clarify that these ideas are best suited for long-form content but can also be used for short-form content.

I usually write one actionable thread and one lead-generation thread each week on my Twitter and LinkedIn.

These prompts are not exactly polished, but they provide a great start. As Picasso once said, 'Creativity starts by copying.'
