High-income skills don’t guarantee success.
You still have to learn client acquisition.
Here is my 5-step blueprint for locking the first client:
1. Positioning
High-income skills must be met with great positioning.
Let’s say you’re a copywriter. Instead of saying, ‘I write high-converting copy,’ say, ‘I write B2B sales pages of SaaS products.’
The more specific problem you solve, the higher you charge.
2. Hunt prospects
Once we have a good positioning, you need leads.
Create an account on Apollo, where you’ll get 50 leads for free. It’s the quickest way to jump into action.
Here’s the link:
3. Outreach message
Before we reach out to leads, you need to be presentable.
It’s like going on the first date where you can’t be too bland or too bold. One big lesson I learned is always to be specific.
Know what you’re asking for and prove you can fulfill it.
4. Offer Creation
If you’re a beginner, there are 2 ways to do it:
Pay per results
Do it for free
It depends on where you are on the journey.
If you don’t even have testimonials, I recommend working for free.
5. Fulfillment
You aren’t doing great if clients are not telling their friends.
The end goal is customer fulfillment. A satisfied customer is the best type of marketing.
Ignore client acquisition, focus on client fulfillment.
